ALBANIA: TRAINING COURSE for BORDER POLICE and SPECIAL VEHICLES UNITS

Tirana, 19-21.12.2017

In cooperartion with Italian Embassy in Tirana, past days 19-21 of December, the first training course on Counterfeiting Documentation and Illicit Traffic of Vehicles for Unit Managers was held at the Albanian Public Security Academy addressed to Border Police and traffic investigation units.

The first two days were dedicated to the analysis of the theoretical aspects of the problems, while the third day was dedicated to a practical session of checks at the Port of Durres, during which it has been possible to detect some hi-end vehicles – proceeding from Italy, Switzerland and Spain – they were in possession of irregular or falsified documentation.

The police also organized a night-time monitoring operation in the center of the capital, which was another opportunity to carry out hands-on training on many vehicles which were stopped and their respective documents.

The training event ended with the handing out of a certificate of Attendance to all the attendees, in the presence of the General Director of Police (Dr. Haki Çako) who thanked us for the support given by our companies ARIKI Group and XPERTA; the next operational and training initiatives in collaboration with the Albanian Authorities are already under way.

We would like to thank the Italian Embassy in Tirana and the InterPol officers employed there, the Albanian Liaison Officer in Italy and the Albanian Police General Directorate for the availability demonstrated by endorsing this initiative
